Over Fall Break, we celebrated Erica’s birthday (who happens to be one of LOJP’s readers) at Six Flags over Georgia. We headed out from Tennessee in the wee hours of the morning; it’s time like these that you thank God for car heaters. Before we knew it, we were in Georgia and ready to face the giant thrillers.

Fashion Week Nashville 2010 was hosted on Nov. 1-6 by Couture Fashion Magazine. It was a collaboration of talented artists and designers. I was lucky enough to swag an All-Day Pass to FWN Runway shows on Saturday.

Among the many designers, one of my favorites is Shawn-Michelle Le Fleur, a couture accessory line designed to “make each occasion a special reflection of you!” This extensive floral collection is designed by the very talented Shawn-Michelle. Just as she has clients of all sorts of size, shapes and looks, Shawn-Michelle derives her inspiration from the country scenes and coastal life of her hometown, right up to the chic streets of England and Paris.
I got to meet the designer and take pictures with her and the models!
Stay tuned as I update my blog with more pictures from Fashion Week Nashville 2010.

Have you ever traveled across the globe and wondered if you should tip, who you should tip, and if so, how much? It’s okay if you answered “Yes!” to all the questions; because, I did too!
It can be frustrating to decide when and how you should tip. This is especially true if the employees of a restaurant, etc. give you a look that makes you feel like Mr. Scrooge the 2nd; or when you get suspicious glances from security guards for tipping others; yes, tipping is illegal in certain countries.
However, thanks to advances in technology, I present to you:
- Globe Tipping: Tipping Calculator & Advisor for Apple iPhone, iPod touch and iPad.
This application allows you to globally easily access the rules and etiquettes of tipping (not cows). It provides a list of do’s and don’ts and functions as a calculator – allowing you to calculate the required tip percentage.
- TipCalc for Blackberry Touch Screens (Blackberry Storm and Scorch)
The user-friendly interface enables you to calculate tips, save them for records and split the bill evenly among your friends. You can also email your records to yourself, enabling you to keep track of your spending.

Now, with all these helpful apps and many more, you can sit back, relax and enjoy that nice plate of lobsters you just ordered!

Welcome to Panera! One of my favorite bakery-cafes. Every weekend, my best friend and I visit Panera at Green Hills, as often as we go to church. Panera on Saturday, and church service on Sunday. Sounds good to me!

I love the cozy environment. Perfect for friendly gatherings, casual business meetings and dates. ;P
At Panera, K and I would laugh about all of life’s craziness. Often, we joke that this might become a ritual that’ll continue until we’re old. Though, I’m not sure if we’d be in the same state. However, that wouldn’t be a problem, because Panera is found everywhere.
For all my weight-watcher friends out there,
Panera provides a wide array of healthy foods and salads:
Panera also makes the best soups. Much better than cafeteria food! You can get a Pick 2 set which allows you to get two sides at a cheaper price. One of my favorite sides is the broccoli cheddar soup.
With MyPanera card, I got a free pastry of choice!
The next time you visit Panera, be sure to love, laugh and try out their smoothies!
“Such goodness is best, when shared!”
I never leave Panera without a story. If I were to write about my life-changing events that happened in Panera, it would be a book.
So let me know. What’s your Panera story? Let me know your most interesting story the next time you visit Panera. It could be funny, interesting, sad, joyful, etc.
‘Til next time,
Amelia
It was Friday once again. As usual, my best friend and I were ready to try out a new food location. This time, we were feeling adventurous and ventured towards the Eastern side of the food spectrum. After much searching, we decided to eat at a restaurant close to “home.” Located in Green Hills, Pei Wei serves Asian delicacy from China, Korea, Japan, Thailand and Vietnam. The street where Pei Wei’s diner is, was simply an escape from the mundane everyday life of lecture halls and white-washed dorm halls. However, the peaceful facade was soon interrupted by my rumbling stomach. Onwards to Pei Wei!
As I entered, I was greeted by the modern theme found throughout the dinner. I then walked through the line of menus that were displayed on flat digital screens, a modern approach towards traditional delicacy. Alas, after being visually enticed into the scrumptious exotic food, I was ready to order.
The first dish we ordered was more traditional:

A combination of rice wine sauce, scallions, garlic, onions, bean sprouts, shiitake mushrooms, carrots and egg noodle.
Feeling adventurous, I then decided to try something new:

NEW! A fusion of flavors from Thailand's traditional cuisine and Bangkok's street food vendors. *LIMITED TIME ONLY!
Last but not least, no Asian delicacy is complete without Spring Rolls!

Overall, Pei Wei has a great ambience, a modern take towards traditional delicacy and great customer service.
I recommend visiting Pei Wei. Its private set-up allows for friendly gatherings, business deals and dates.
It’s also great for all you jet setters who need an exotic getaway all packed into a to-go box. Perfect for the working man or woman.

It’s that time of year again; when the weather starts changing, and time seems to fly by.
Sitting here, looking out the window, I wish it would just rain.
It’s been such a busy week, I just want to fly, fly away.
So many thoughts, running through my brain, polished faces, hide the pain,
Oh, perhaps my plea for peace will arrive with fall break, oh that peace I may have.
It’s fall! And Fall Break is approaching near. Whether you are going home for the break, going on an adventurous road trip, or attending a conference elsewhere, you’ll need some form of baggage to carry your clothes, toiletries, etc.
The one thing every novice backpacker and expert traveler needs to know is the kind of bag he/she should use when traveling.
You should know three things when choosing a bag to use.
First, you should consider the duration of the trip: How long will you be away?
For trips that last
-
1-2 days: backpack, duffel bag or a small luggage
-
3-5 days: duffel bag or a small luggage
-
5-7 days: a small luggage
-
more than a week: Small/Medium-sized luggage
**unless of course you live in another country. In that case, you might need more than one luggage. Stay tuned to lojp.wordpress.com as I blog about more travel how-to’s, including how to pack light when traveling overseas.
Hey there! It’s almost five weeks into the school year, and I’m excited for what’s in store for me and you fellow college/university friends. If you haven’t already celebrated the joy of new textbooks, fresh knowledge and tons of new friends, it’s about time you did so!
Take a 20-minute break from all the assignments and head on over to Sweet Cece’s at:
Sweet Cece’s frozen yogurts are simply goodness rolled into one.
I’m loving Sweet Cece’s because it’s so yummy and keeps me healthier in comparison to other desserts. Also, I get to personalize my own dessert with different flavors and toppings!
That’s all for now folks! Stay tuned.
Definitely going back for more frozen yogurt!

Two weeks ago, after the rush of adrenaline and back-to-school craziness, I was ready to just veg out.
And as you would have guessed, the moment I got a call to hang out with the girls, my first response was YES!
All I knew was that we were going to a botanical garden. But I got more than I bargained for.
Think “Alice in Wonderland”; except this time, the garden glows.
The CHIHULY art exhibition at Cheekwood, displays glass sculptures ranging from exquisite plants to spectacular planets. It’s been one of the most spectacular glass exhibits I’ve ever seen!
Dale Chihuly uses the play of shape and light to form his craft.
